Pothigai Express

The Pothigai Express is a train service running between Chennai Egmore and Sengottai on the Southern Railway zone of the government-owned Indian Railways.[1] The service was extended from Tenkasi to Sengottai in 2008 following gauge conversion work the previous year.[2][3]

Train 12661 starts daily at 8:05 pm, departing Chennai Egmore for Sengottai, and train number 12662 in the opposite direction.

Configuration

The train runs consists of 20 carriages: 1 AC II Tier, 3 AC III Tier, 9 III Tier Sleeper, 4 Unreserved and 2 luggage coaches. Its top speed is 90 km/h.
